Lower Shore YMCA
Pocomoke City, MD
Thanks to the Lower Shore YMCA, ESIMBA has been able to create and maintain a fun and diverse trail network designed for riders from beginner to advanced. We have been placing trails on the YMCA’s 100+ acres of land in a series of defined loops that each have difficulty ratings from beginner to advanced. It even has a hill!
There is a great deal more potential on this property and if you are interested in working here let us know. We host monthly family fun rides here on the last Sunday of the month and are looking to host more adult mountain bike races throughout this winter.
Currently we have approximately 4 miles of pure singletrack with a realistic potential of 10-12 miles plus some potential expansion onto adjacent government owned properties if we can make a successful proposal.
ESIMBA just affiliated with IMBA in November 2011, so we are still getting organized. Our primary immediate goal is to establish some Memoranda of Understanding with land managers of existing trail networks so we can officially maintain and develop local beloved trails. Check back for more or email us with ideas and questions.
For now, please understand that while we are getting established it is very important for our members to be discrete and patient. Please do not commit ESIMBA to any projects without first consulting the officers or the voting membership in a meeting. Eventually we will develop an efficient process for developing new trail networks. Right now we are still introducing ourselves to the community and creating trust among local leaders and land managers.
Salisbury City Park Focus Group
A large contingent of ESIMBA members are participating currently in a focus group envisioning the future of the Salisbury City Park. This is the first step hopefully in returning a viable, permanent trail system in the Crossroads of Delmarva.
